|| Situation in the City and Countryside ||
¤ Hama City:
Tension in the city is running high due to the full occupation by regime forces who arbitrarily raid neighborhoods in the city and search houses. Forces at checkpoints stop and search cars, creating a traffic jam, and military aircraft continue to fly to and from the Hama Military Airport. This morning, Assad regime forces raided houses in the area near Mahmoud al-Shaqfe School in al-Qusour neighborhood.
¤ Hama Countryside:
Helfaya:
The regime's bombardment of Helfaya continued for the 10th consecutive day, using all kinds of burning, explosive and cluster bombs. Houses in the area are massively destroyed, and clashes at the southwestern outskirts continue, as opposition forces attempt to block regime troops from advancing into the city. The FSA succeeded in destroying a tank and Shilka in the battle.
Southern Hama Countryside: Tal Qartal:
Gunfire from al-Unfeh checkpoint toward agricultural fields was reported. Regime forces also burnt some crops after opposition fighters attacked the checkpoint and al-Melh checkpoint.
Eastern Hama Countryside:
A mass exodus of residents from the pro-regime village of Maryoud, east of M'aardes, was reported after opposition fighters captures al-Tlaiseyeh. The residents took their furniture and goods they had stolen from neighboring villages with them, and very few people remain in the village now. Some went to M'aarshuhour and others went to Qamhaneh.
Also, Surouj village was subject to artillery shelling from Rahjan, after which crops were set on fire. Al-Madabea' Abu al-Kusour and Tawtah villages were also shelled.
Northern Hama Countryside:
The regime checkpoint between M'aardes and Tayebt al-Imam was firing artillery shells toward the west of Tayebt al-Imam.
Aqrab:
The town was subject to artillery and missile shelling from pro-regime forces in the surrounding villages.
Shahshabo Mountain:
The villages of Shahshabo Mountain and al-Ghab Plain were subject to heavy shelling. The area has been without water and electricity for ten consecutive days.
Kafarzeita:
The Tal al-Hamameyat checkpoint, west of Kafarzeita, shelled farms in the area today and damaged the crops. The city has been without water and electricity for six days.
Salamieh:
The Martyrs of Salamieh Battlaion and other FSA units in the area attacked the Salba station checkpoint and completely destroyed it. Regime forces responded by shelling the area.
Soran:
Assad regime forces from the Soran-Tayebt al-Imam Bridge checkpoint raided Yusuf al-Asaad's house and arrested his children Riyad and Ahmed, and his nephew Yusuf. They also arrested Farouq al-Eisa from his house.
